Bradley Baseball
Braves now 2-0 on a gutty performance in pretty cold weather. The Bradley pitching was stellar and carried the day for the Braves. Hitting was not the storng suit for BU today as this was their first day outside and it was about 35 degrees. BU had only 8 hits total in the double header but came thru offensively when necessary. BU (2-0) goes for the sweep tomorrow versus Murray State (0-2).

Re: Bradley Baseball
Kinda late on my post. BU fought hard but lost the 3rd game of the series in the bottom of the ninth. Hitting was plentiful even though it seemd colder than the day before. The starting pitcher for BU was ejected in the 3rd or 4th inning. He was pitching pretty well and there was a bang bang play at first (with the pitcher covering). The runner appeared to be out, the ump called him safe, the BU pitcher expressed his feelings about the call....you know the rest of the story. In my opinion the ump had a bit of a short fuse. It cost BU, as the starting pitcher was throwing well and the ejection seemed to get BU out of their flow. To BU's credit they did come back from a run down to tie it up in the top of the 9th, but then Murray scored in the bottom of the 9th to win it.
BU is slated to face one of the top pitchers in the country this weekend at Eastern Kentucky. Hopefully it's warmer.

Re: Bradley Baseball
Only 1 game today (1pm) and DH tomorrow (11am). BU will be facing one of the top pitching prospects in the country in the first game of the three game series today. Weather girl says mostly sunny, mid to high 40's today and sunny and about 60 tomorrow (much better than last weekend's trip to the western part of Kentucky). During my downtime I'm going to look at buying a race horse. I'll keep you all posted.........

Re: Bradley Baseball
Sorry I'm so late on my post readers. I spent most of yesterday evening looking for the real BU baseball team - apparently someone else showed up yesterday wearing their uniforms. The BU imposters gave up 13 runs and committed 5 errors while only having 3 hits in the 9 inning affair. A total collapse in all areas of the game. We'll hope for better things in the DH today. On a lighter note, the weather and BBQ are great here in eastern Kentucky......

Re: Bradley Baseball
Well, I'm broadcasting to you from Bradenton, FL. Just got here this evening and had the opportuntity to pass thru some bad weather north of Atlanta today, plus saw some damage from the Friday tornado that hit dowtown Atlanta. Unfortunately, the Vermont baseball team did as much damage to BU as the weather did in Atlanta. We arrived too late to see the DH today, but the box scores are ugly. The hitting needs to get better soon. Plus, BU started their most consistent pitchers (thus far this season) today and lost both games. Now they are looking at playing 4 more games in 4 more days, one day off, then starting their conference season this coming Friday at Evansville.......
I'll report back after tomorrow's game. The weather is very nice.

Re: Bradley Baseball
BU played poorly again yesterday against UMBC (University of Maryland at Baltimore County). Pitching gave up tons of hits/runs and hitting again was lackluster - only 5 hits. It needs to get better soon.........

Don't worry. Georgetown will get revenge for you on the hard-wood this weekend.

Better day today for BU - got a win. The BU pitching was excellent and we finally got some hits. BU plays a pretty decent Ohio State team tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.
The weather is outstanding.

Re: Bradley Baseball
Well, Florida is now about 40 degrees ago as I sit here in the Evansville Marriott wondering where this BU season is headed. Bradley put 7 runs on the board in the 1st inning last night vs. an Evansville team that came into the game 1-11. Final score you ask? Evansville 9, Bradley 8. Evansville pounded out 16 hits on BU pitching. The BU hitting appears to be making some progress, but if the pitching gives up 16 hits to a team that is 1-11.....the hitting, no matter how good it might get, will not be able to win the day. The pitching needs to improve.
However, BU still can take the series with wins today and tomorrow.

Re: Bradley Baseball
BU hits the ball well today (13 hits) and gets a 9-6 comeback win, with 4 of those runs coming in the top of the 9th. The BU pitching was still a bit shakey, but good enough coupled with the hitting to get the win. With BU's ace on the mound tomorrow we should get a win and take the series....but you never know.
As a side note, it was cold as balls today.
