ICC Baseball

Post  GoBirdsGo on 1st January 2008, 22:09

Gotta get out to ballgame or two this year. From what I hear from a buddy of mine on the team they are going to be really good. Any idea when they'll be posting their schedule online? Just their Fall schedule up now.

THANKS!

That looks nothing like the one I was on. Mine was a link from the ICC website.

I know, that was the old one. They havent figured out how to link it from the main site yet, but a few folks have access...again spread the word, its a good site. You are right, they have some very good talent returning and some fresh noew guys, I think they might make a little noise this year.

Is Salz still the all-time strikeout leader at ICC? Wink

Does ICC play Blackhawk College?

No, ICC does not play Blackhawk...different levels/conferences. Dont know anything about Salz's career at ICC but the level of baseball at ICC is drastically better the past 8 yrs or so than it was in the 80's and 90's.

The different conferences answer doesn't jive. BHC plays schools outside of the conference all the time, as do most or all college ball teams.

Maybe they just don't schedule each other maybe the correct answer.

Brett has tried to schedule a number of in-state JUCOs to the west (Carl Sandburg, Black Hawk, etc.) went, but they haven't been able to get it done.

And I believe Salz is still the career strikeout leader for those with under five career innings pitched.

I believe I still have the career strikeout mark for pitchers that pitched under 10 innings for their career! Smile

We were very good my sophomore year. I still think we should've made it to the JC World Series but we sort of took a dump up in Kankakee. That was a fun year even though I didn't pitch much (aka, barely at all). Some good guys on that team.

My freshman year I believe we played Blackhawk East (I think). We almost got into a bench clearing brawl. I don't think ICC has played them since.

That's a different BHC from the one my brother attended, BHC East is mainly an Ag Campus, feisty farmers. I could see how that could happen.

East is Kewanee, West(main campus) is Moline.

But I get what your saying, thanks for the info ladies.

Sorry, I meant the main campus, I just typed East (I don't even think they have baseball there). But you got the picture.

I just took a look at the website again. Really a cool site, big upgrade. I noticed the roster has been pared down to 23, is it me or does that seem a litlle thin?
