Wondering, if a kid isn't a stud for y'all, is he unimportant?Celtic 50 wrote:BW which kid transferred from the football team? I was at weights last night and everyone of importance was accounted for.

No idea. I heard it was a Woody kid, but Metamora people are so sheltered, if he was a kid of color, they must've assumed he was from a Peoria school.
I've been trying to talk Wes Gordon from Manual into becoming my adopted son... he's a stud in rugby, and I hear he's pretty good at FB, too....

Manual has had a handfull of VERY talented football players the last few years. It is kind of hard to win more than 2 games with a roster of about 18 kids. It's to bad they can't talk some of their friends into playing. If Central and Manual could combine teams and find the right coach to get the kids to buy in the system they would be alright ala Thorton at Woody.

No they don't have to be considered a stud to be important. But there were 76 kids at weights all week and those who were not had been accounted for. I heard that woody actually picked up a black running back from Metamora and also got Jared Bussone from ND. Maybe we should take this back to the football page?

Have we even had a black running back since 1997?

We had a black kid move in last year as a Freshie. Never really saw the field. Funny, the other night at camp we were wondering what had happened to him. Guess this is prolly him.BirdWatcher wrote:Celtic 50 wrote:No they don't have to be considered a stud to be important. Question for you Metamora people: Why does it matter what color he is?
Color and race mean nothing.

A bit off topic, but people are concerned about loyalty, etc. and then it was posted that the kid/family had to do what's best for them. But then why do liberals get all bent out of shape about families pulling out of the city and moving to the burbs to provide for a safer school/environment for their kids, stating it's weakening the tax base and the school system?
I think kids/families should have the right to do what's best for themselves. I have no prob with the kid moving. Just don't yell at me if I don't have a star athlete looking to get out.

I believe the politically correct (and racist) term for that, PIF, is white flight.

I was just responding to Celtic 50. He was the one who said, "I heard that woody actually picked up a black running back from Metamora." My comment was, I didn't think we'd even had a black running back since '97.... nor a black player since '04.
Personally, I don't care what color you are, as long as you lift....

Black is a color , just as white is a color. These are words used to describe things. Get over it and quit trying to start something or read into something that is not there. I coached over 100 black kids in the past four years so back off. Also BW was right they have not had very many black kids in Metamora period so when describing someone and not knowing their name it kinda helps to narrow things down.

The only Metamora transfer I know of was ineligible, and it was last year...good sized kid, but transfered over ineligible. We got an RB from Richwoods, but not Metamora.
