2009 football

Post  Celtic 50 on 2nd August 2009, 10:00

Just wondering where everyone has been and what your thoughts on the upcoming ear is going to be? personally i think the entire area is going to be weaker than usual. this shuld make for some more exciting games and less blowouts and predictable outcomes.

The board has been dead and I almost closed it down a few months ago. I check in about once a week to see if I have any PMs or if anyone has posted anything.

If floks want to keep it open, thats fine by me.

I think that RW will be pretty good, other than that I have no clue.

Agreed, As far as the MS6 goes, the top three teams will all be doing a lot of rebuilding after all three lose several key players. It will be interesting to see how much PND improves. Heres how I see it......

1.QND-More depth to rebuild than both RHS and WHS. Not sure how tough their Non Conf schedule is.
2A* RHS-Lost a TON from last year and last year they had some depth issues. May see a lot of Sophs and JRs getting a lot of playing time. Not a whole lot of quality SRs on this team.
2B* WHS-Lost a TON of quality players as well. Looking for a QB and RB to step up. Speed shouldn't be a problem and the D should be solid as always.

*-Which ever team gets their young players to step up and ready to compete for four qrts will finish second. Both should playoff teams. The winner of RHS/WHS game will be key for both teams.

4 PND-Still several steps behind the top three. How much will they improve from last year? A win over Limestone in week one would help get the ball rolling.
5 Manual-I give them the nod over Central simply because of Coach Fauser. They always seem to have a handleful of good players. They just lack numbers.
6.Central-???? who knows? IMO Central hasn't had a standout player in years.

Great tosee people reply. I think woodruff will be stronger at qb this year than last and have a few that can rotate at rb, defense will be solid. QND has been said to have enough to walk away as conf champs hands down. Heard RHS will be spreading out offensively and have a different look than usual. bottom three are still the bottom three.

Midillini talk has been meta as usual for conf, but look for them to get bumped in playoffs. wash and EP fighting it out for second.

I'm down to about 2-3 posts a week on the PJ Star board. Why? Because I can't say what I feel.

BTW-PND really SUCKS. It is hard to believe they have fallen so far so fast. Worked late so I didn't get to the game until about 6:45. No parking at Expo be cause of a flea market. Parked at the parents house and walked up. THe line was long so I went to Peeler Field to see KO. Got into a 1966 college football discussion with some old Spalding grads. Never did pay to go.

Being about three feet behind the PND bench was very telling. NO COACHING was going on. You could hear Brown accross the field coaching the players even up by 35. The PND bench was somber to say the least. No one cherring on the other players-nothing.

It seems like thats the case. It also seems like the PND faithful dont want to talk about it..I understand that, but for local HS football enthusiasts its really too bad. I have said it often, when PND is good, its good for everybody.

I knew it was going to be a bloodbath. It wasnt even fun to watch and there was very little anticipation before hand.

And to think a friend of mine sent his kid to PND because he couldn't afford to move to Metamora, and he didn't want him to play for a bad team (Morton).

I'm not sure what Massey would be for a PND/Morton game but I say Morton by at least 28. Morton needs to learn to play 4 qrtrs of football along with Dunlap.

hopefully you are right about pnd and wody can roll through. they will have to upset either qnd or rhs to get into the playoffs. hate to see final season for the warriors go the way it has. hopefully justice will prevail with burch and all will go well. also look for another addition late in season to help the warriors finish strong.

So, since Burch is verbotten at PJS, what's the story on him? I was out of town then the suspension came.

All I can say right now is that we no longer live in a society were you are innocent until proven guilty. You are guilty even when proven innocent. I wish I could say more but for right now I can not. All I know is that if I ever knew of a players from another team who made a mistake that could be taken care of I would let that other coach know about it rather than sit on the info, wait for the kid to play a game and then turn him in when it might be to late for the kid to take care of things and keep him from beating my team later in the year. On PJS someone said it was bush league if my brother knew about it and did nothing, well first off he knew nothng and his faith would not allow him to do something like that, and second the school who sat on the info until after week one was bush league for how they handled things.
