Woodruff Memorabillia

Post  94 Knight on 16th October 2009, 21:45

I know a lot of times when schools close the schools auction/sell off a lot of the athletic equipment. As a life long fan of the Mid State 10/9/8/6 and Peoria football in general I would love the opportunity to purchase a Woodruff helmet or jersey and proudly display it with the rest of my helmet and jersey collection that I have collected over the last 20 or so years.

Coach Thorton if there ever is such an auction please let us know. I might even sport a Thorton Thunder T-shirt. I'm going to miss seeing the Woodruff/Michigan helmet decal logo stickers in the neighborhood cars. As a guy who lives in the heart of Woodruff land, it was great to see Tim Thorton bring a LOT of pride to the neighborhood with what he did with the Woodruff Football program. That being siad I am going to be very sad next Fall when I can't walk up the street and watch the Woodruff JFL games. I have come to enjoy those the last 8 years.

.........sad day for the Mid State 10/9/8/6. I'd love to see Woodruff go out a winner next week.

94 Knight, a friend of mine very close to the JFL scene text me and said not to give up on seeing JFL at Von Stuben. Nothing decided as of yet.

GBG,

Great news. A lot of the kids walk to practice. I'd hate to see a ten year old not be able to play JFL because he doesn't have a ride to Central or Richwoods. The coaches do a great job with the kids as well.

Talked to one of the Woodruff JFL coaches at lunch today. According to him, the decision on Woodruff JFL will be made next March.

This was/is one of the biggest issues concerning it according to my friend. The kids simply won't be able to play if they have to get a ride.
