MNF

Post  jim beam on 29th September 2009, 06:35

I watched Monday Night Football for the first time is quite awhile last night.

The new Coboys stadium is ridiculous.

The Carolina receivers are prima donnas. Run a route! Get open! Stop bitching!

Cowboys O-line is huge.

Halftime with Chris Berman is brutal, hes hard to listen to

Ive been married 25 years and since we have had kids (24 yrs)I have watcd no college football on Saturdays. Saturdays have always been a day for chores, kids stuff, day trips etc etc. The past several years I suppose I could have been watching college football since the kids are way out of the need stage, but my Sat habits have long been established.

I usually watch 1 game on Sunday (Bears) and psossibly part of a second game, part of a Thursday night game etc.

However the NFL is really turning me off with all the thugs and BS. I am so sick of a guy getting owned for a 1/4, then making a play and acting like he just won the Super Bowl.....or scoring when you need 5 scores and acting like hes all that..I just dont have the stomache for all that drama.

But I havent watched a college game in years...my boys love it and swear by it.......and oddly enough my 19 yr old daughter is going to ND/Wash Saturday......Ive never been a fan of ND but theres really no reason for that, maybe I'll start rooting for the Irish

I have jiu-jitsu class from 12-1PM on most Saturdays......unless I am in South Bend and from the moment I come home until the late game is over......I am watching college football.....most of the times hitting the local tavern so I can watch Central Michigan play.

That MNF game was one of the worst on record. However I remember watching Felix Jones play in college and that is one of the main reasons why I even watch the NFL anymore is to look into how the players have progressed. I hate Michigan but really enjoy watching Woodson, and now Manningham play in the pros.

You need to go to South Bend if you havent been before......as well as the Big House....Horseshoe, and Badger Stadium. The rivalries make the games worth watching no matter where they are but the atmosphere blows the NFL out of the water.

I actually have been to ND a couple times, for campus tours and weddings...never a footbal game, but been there on gameday.

Im more interested in visiting my kids in college on a Saturday than I am going off to some college game, but I think I might start watching a game on Saturday occassionally.

I watched Iowa/Penn State Saturday night because Brad Herman (from Meta) is a TE for Iowa. I know his folks well, and his dad was in Penn for the game. I also tuned into Purdue/ND a little becuz TerBush is the #2 for Purdue. Other than that, I can't remember the last college game I watched.

Saturday afternoons are for rugby. Twisted Evil

I love watching College football. ND game takes priority, then usually some big ten games in the morning and at night there is usually one good game on primetime. MNF sucks if the bears aren't playing.
